Capital Campaign

At Madison Children’s Museum, we know that every bit of help along the way plays a significant role in making our dreams come true.

The museum surpassed its Ready, Set…Grow! capital campaign goal of $10 million at its Wonder Ball opening gala on August 7 with a surprise gift of $250,000 from Nate Brand to name the museum’s 1838 log cabin.

While the museum’s campaign goal was $10 million, the project budget is $11.5 million. The museum was planning to finance the remaining $1.5 million, but any contributions beyond the $10 million goal will reduce the loan amount.

Gifts toward the capital campaign will be gratefully accepted through the museum’s opening weekend, August 14-15. All gifts will be recognized on the museum’s website, and those greater than $1,000 will be recognized with permanent signage.

In December 2008, The Kresge Foundation, a nationally recognized funder of capital challenge grants, awarded MCM’s Ready, Set…Grow! Capital Campaign $750,000. This challenge is designed to inspire the community to support the new building project. When the museum reached $9,250,000 toward its $10 million private goal, Kresge provided $750,000 to top off the campaign.
