The Polling Place
Election season will kick off at Madison Children’s Museum on September 20 with the grand opening of Polling Place. Kids may not be able to help choose the next President of the United States but they can have a big impact on the future home of Madison Children’s Museum.
Polling Place, sponsored by Jack Lussier and the Wisconsin Humanities Council, is an opportunity for kids to learn about and take part in the democratic process. Blending the arts with civic engagement, children will have the opportunity to deliberate and cast a vote to decide the fate of future exhibits and art installations for MCM’s new home. Programming in Polling Place is supported by the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Madison and Whyte Hirshboeck Dudek S.C.
Along with the chance to make these important decisions, kids will test future exhibit components in the new Experimental Gallery. This gallery plays a key role in the exhibit development process for the new building. It will allow exhibits staff to test and obtain feedback and reactions for potential exhibits. You never know what you might find in the Experimental Gallery, so visit it often and weigh in your thoughts!
