Birthday Party Volunteers
MCM is looking for Birthday Party Volunteers, age 18 and older, to help create a fun birthday party experience. Volunteers will help set up, greet and orient party guests, facilitate programs, clean up, and be an enthusiastic host/hostess. Volunteer positions are available primarily on weekend mornings and afternoons. An outgoing personality and experience working with children ages 1-8 is preferred.

Gallery Guide Volunteers
MCM is currently seeking Gallery Guide Volunteers, ages 14 and up, to help out in our Visitor Services Department. Volunteers will greet visitors and interact with them to help create a welcoming and rewarding visitor experience. This involves showing visitors how to use exhibits and being able to play with them yourself! Volunteers will also help the Visitor Services staff maintain the exhibits. Experience working with children ages 0-8 is preferred. This volunteer position requires interacting with visitors so an outgoing personality is essential. Gallery Guide shifts are two hours in length.
Positions open: Sunday 2:30-4:30, every other Monday 9:30-11:30, Thursday 9:30-11:30, Saturday 12:00-2:00.
Program Volunteers
Program Volunteers, ages 14 and up, are needed to assist with a variety of art, culture, and science drop-in programs for children ages 1-8. Volunteers will help the Education staff and guest instructors with informal activities in the museum. Shifts will be available 7 days a week and are centered around program times. Experience working with children ages 1-8 is preferred.
Positions Open: Every other Sunday 12:45-3:15, Wednesday 10:00-11:30.
Special Event Volunteers
MCM needs help with our special events year ‘round. These are one-time volunteer opportunities that are open to individuals, over age 14, and small groups. Volunteers are required to attend the entirety of the event.

Annual Benefit Sale Volunteers
MCM needs handy individuals to help repair doll furniture on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 am to noon to prepare for our Annual Benefit Sale fund raiser of American Girl Returns and Seconds. The event takes place on July 18th and 19th, 2009. Work will be at the warehouse at 8830 North Greenview in Middleton, WI. Proceeds from the sale directly support children’s causes throughout the region. Minimal training is needed. Volunteers should be comfortable using tools, paints, etc. If you are interested, please contact Marianne Madar at 608-268-1231 ext. 33.
