What’s Madison’s favorite place for a kid’s birthday party? Isthmus readers agree, it’s Madison Children’s Museum! We make birthday celebrations a piece of cake by handling party activities so that you can relax and enjoy your child’s special day. Book now by calling 608.256.6445, ext. 540. All birthday party packages include:

* Museum admission for up to 12 guest children (13 including birthday child) and unlimited adult chaperones
* Use of our Celebrations Room for 90 minutes
* Birthday cake by Carl’s Cakes and juice and milk for the guest children
* Tableware
* Help from a museum “Funstigator” so your party goes off without a hitch!
* Your choice of four time slots: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m.; and 3-4:30 p.m. – Saturdays and Sundays only.

Regular-Hours Parties

Basic Party, $230

* Includes everything listed above, plus time for your group to free play anywhere in our three floors of exhibits!
* For an extra-special event, party favor bags may be added at a cost of $4/child. Favor bags include: Pencil, Compass, Magic Boomerang, Bouncy Ball, and 3 tattoos.
* More than 12 guest children? Additional guests can be accommodated for $8 per additional child.
* Members receive 10% discount on cost of party

Activity Party, $270

* Includes everything from the Basic Party, plus a themed activity! (Activities recommended for children ages 4-8)
* More guests can be accommodated for $10 per additional child
* Member receive 10% discount on cost of party

Dazzling Dinosaurs Party
Our guests start the party by dressing up like dinos in special vests and then decorating their very own dino masks. We then finish the activity with a replica volcanic eruption! By far our most popular activity choice.

Astronaut Adventure Party
Our guests get to don special spacesuits and decorate “MASA” (Museum Air and Space Association) badges to wear. Afterwards it’s time for blastoff when each child decorates and launches a balloon rocket!

Museum Mystery Party
This party is for all the young gumshoes out there who are ready to solve the mystery of the missing birthday cake. Look high and low around our exhibits for clues about whodunnit and work together to save the party!

Amazing Artists Party
For all your little Picassos, this party takes guests on a scavenger hunt of our different Artist Alphabet letters located around the museum to learn about creativity with resources. When finished each child gets their own turn to decorate a letter of their very own!

After-Hours Premium Parties

Enjoy private access to areas of the museum during non-public hours! Our After-Hours Party boosts the fun with a special two-hour party length, capabilities for a larger guest list, and private access to our second floor, including the Celebrations Room, Possible-opolis and Art Studio. Parties available any night of the week from 5:30-7:30pm.

* More guests can be accommodated for $17 per additional child
* Members receive 10% discount on cost of party

Celebration Cuisine and Payment

Children who attend birthday parties at Madison Children’s Museum will be treated to birthday cake and drinks, plus the option of adding on meals and snacks prepared by The Roman Candle , our exclusive birthday party caterer, for an extra cost. MCM does not allow outside food to be brought in for parties.

Payment information: Credit Card must be provided on file – no exceptions. A $50 non-refundable deposit is made at time of booking and refunds are not available for cancelled parties. Payment for remaining party balance and any additional food will be processed the week before the party, and any additional charges (extra children, membership discounts, etc.) will be processed the Monday following the party’s completion.
