Grand Opening!
The museum and new exhibit open at 9:00 a.m., with special programs throughout the day.
Schedule of Activities:
10:00 a.m.
Build a Yurt
Help construct a kid-size yurt, a portable house used in Mongolia and other parts of the world. Learn how the yurt’s structure allows it to be easily moved from place to place while being able to withstand the punishing weather conditions of Central Asia.
11:00 a.m.-noon
Ice Castles
Construct indoor castles and sculptures using frozen blocks of ice.
11:00 a.m.-noon
Sensory Table Snow Sculpture
Find toddler-friendly snow fun for the museum’s youngest visitors in the First Feats gallery
2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Scrapyard Construction
Use wood scraps and recycled materials to design and construct models of winter-worthy shelters and vehicles.
