LAYERS: A family workshop to compliment Brenda Bakers intimate and abstract paintings in Conceal/Reveal, her current show at the James Watrous Gallery that runs through June 28th 2009.

Join us for a family friendly, collaborative workshop between the Madison Children’s Museum and the James Watrous Gallery on Sunday June 28th from 1-3p.m.  The workshop will begin at 1:00p.m. at the Watrous Gallery, (on the 3rd floor of the

Overture Center) with Brenda giving a 20 minute guided tour of her recent work.  After the talk we’ll walk over to MCM, where Brenda will demonstrate art making techniques that incorporate layering and scraping to create textured drawings and paintings. After the demonstration, families will be invited to create their own layered works of art to take home.  The cost of the workshop is $5.00 per child/plus admission to the museum for families (if not already members).  Families can pre-register by calling 256-6445 ext. 18 or kfish@madisonchildrensmuseum.org or by signing up at the front desk at the museum or in the gallery.  This workshop has a limit of 20 children and 20 adults.
